X'vera was born just outside the Lynx tribal lands as the second child to X'rahka Tia and X'tahli Rhika. Both her father and mother had been banished from the tribe for having her elder brother X'rinh, while her father was a Tia. This broke the rules of only mating with the tribe's Nunh.However, because of this, X'vera grew up in a small grouping of fellow outcasts and was cared for in a more traditional family manner than a tribal manner, though the rest of the outcasts would come to each other's aid as needed. X'vera learned a varied amount of basic and survival skills not only from her parents but the outcasts as well. From hunting with a bow to making her own clothes, X'vera was content to live the rest of her days there until one fateful day it all changed.It was the calamity. She was down by the river gathering supplies when it all happened. In the chaos of it all she fell into the river and was immediately caught up and taken down stream, eventually washing up on the bank of the river far from home and unconscious.It was here a band of slavers found her and rounded her up with their other finds and took them all to Ul'dahs underground black market. It was here she was sold into slavery as a courtesan. She was scared and out numbered and had little choice but to comply.X'vera never stopped searching for a way out, always looking for a moment to escape. But one good thing came from her bad situation, she found a love for dancing. It was this that saved her, as one day when she was performing on the streets a dancing troupe caught sight of her and took an interested in that budding passion. Offering her a chance to come along with them and learn Thavnarian dance, she agreed but motioned to those keeping an eye on her. The leader in charge of the troupe knew exactly what was wrong and gladly paid the men off before taking X'vera with them to learn.And learn she did. She took to it like a fish to water. Relishing her new found freedom, X'vera put her heart and soul into learning new dance techniques from them until her contract was up. Once back in Ul'dah they parted ways, for now, and X'vera saw fit to start her new life in Ul'dah.
